This “principle” is not a legal term; it is an everyday word that most people use. In fact, many of us have used it at some point. When you ask the clerk for a copy of the papers, and you key in the correct name, you are using examples of a sentence using legal terminology. That clerk then must give you the documents that prove your claim, or proof that you are who you say you are.
When I am representing clients, the first question I ask is whether or not the person is in financial distress. If the answer is yes, I ask what are their past record(s) when it comes to paying their debts. Do they have a bankruptcy case registered against them? Are they presently facing foreclosure? These are important questions and should be answered truthfully and completely.
In an example of a sentence using legal terminology, the words “taking action” and “taking responsibility” indicate that the lawyer is taking legal steps to pursue a case. It could also mean that he is negotiating a settlement for his client. A contingency plan is another way that the meaning of taking action and taking responsibility might be confused. A contingency plan is really a plan for taking care of a contingency in the event that the lawyer is unable to take legal action on a case.
A contingency plan is designed to provide a contingency for both the parties if a settlement is not reached. A contingency plan is typically contingent upon the results of a case. Therefore, a lawyer does not take this action lightly. He takes it seriously and is ready to take whatever action is necessary to ensure that he has done everything possible to present the best case for his client.
Another example of a sentence using legal terminology that I recently presented in court was “Should I take the case? “, which means, “Should I do what I have to do to make this happen?” This example of a sentence using legal language is a little more difficult to interpret. Generally, most people feel like a lawyer should do everything in his power to do what’s right, but when there is an example of a sentence using legal language, the lawyer must take into account all of his options.
What I presented in my hypothetical example of a sentence using legal terminology was a legal issue that would likely require the services of a lawyer. However, even if a lawyer were not needed, there are certain things that a lawyer can do on his own to ensure that the best legal outcome occurs for his client. When I presented this example of a sentence using legal language to one of my clients, I asked him what he thought about hiring a lawyer. His response was, “I’ll never be able to afford one.”
I agree that there are times when a case will simply be too complex for a lay person to take on. I also agree that the cost of a lawyer may be a deterrent for many individuals from even attempting to take on a case that they may have no chance of winning. However, if you have a good lawyer that knows what he is doing, he can help you get the case that you need and deserve.
