Legal Examples in Sentences

One of the most important things you can do to prepare for taking the LSAT is to memorize legal examples in sentences. Memorizing and referencing specific legal cases and the corresponding court opinions will make it easier for you to understand just what you need to be doing when you sit down to take the test. This will also help you better understand just what it is that the LSAT is designed to measure.

For example, one legal example in sentences I often hear cited as educational material is a simple case from the American Diabetes Association. The story begins with a man named Jefferies, who has suffered from diabetes for years. One day, while relaxing at home, he accidentally bit off his finger.

In this example, Jefferies should have been more careful. He should have paid attention to his gauze that was wrapped around his finger. If he had taken a moment to cover it up with the gauze, he could have prevented the accident. Had he only paid attention to his fingers, instead of covering them with the gauze, he might have been able to explain to the court why he bit off his finger. Instead, he put the gauze over his finger, and that is why his finger became infected.

There are legal examples in sentences, you’ll want to take my law exam examples from to help you better understand the types of evidence that the lawyers are going to ask you to prove your points. For instance, one legal example in sentences is when a person is driving on a highway. Suddenly, another car crashes into the back of the first car. The driver in the rear of the second car will be on the stand. Their evidence will include the police report, a photo of the car in the rear, and the accident repair bill. They would use this evidence to prove their claims regarding who is at fault.

Another legal example in sentences is a marriage dispute. If two people are married, they may be tempted to argue about what the authority will do when one of them dies. They may argue to prove that they were legally wed. They may even try to take each other’s last name to prove they were married. Others may simply be trying to prove they were never legally married in the first place. No matter what their reasons are, they are going to present their evidence before the judge.

Some people argue about things that happened when they were drunk. This can be a very tricky situation for the court. In many legal situations, a person can admit to being drunk, but argue that they were not under the influence of alcohol when the incident happened. This is one of the hardest legal situations for the court to take, so the attorney will most likely attempt to get this issue out of the way.

A final legal example in sentences I would like to discuss is a traffic stop. A police officer has to take a person into custody without a valid reason. An illegal arrest can take place if the defendant does not have insurance, is driving under the influence, or is committing another crime. The officer must determine what situation would be best for him or her to take a suspect into custody without causing any harm to that person. In this example, the person may not be guilty of the first offense, but guilty of the second offense. The officer’s philosophy of taking people into custody based solely on suspicion can be considered questionable by some people.

There are many more legal examples in sentences, including DUI sentences. A DUI sentence is given to a driver that failing a field sobriety test and does not subsequently pass it. With this type of example, the accused can argue that he or she did pass the field sobriety tests, but failed the field test because he or she was nervous. If this is true, then it may show that the person was indeed nervous and should not be held accountable for the actions that followed.
